An Introduction

Hello and welcome to my WYD 2008 blog! I leave for my third World Youth Day pilgrimage on July 12, 2008. That's less than two months from now! To remember exactly what I did during my time in Australia and to share with everyone at home my experience there I have decided to create this blog which I will update (hopefully) daily during my pilgrimage.

Most of the logistically important matters of my trip have been taken care of at this point, that is, my round-trip flight to Sydney, my request for vacation from work, my pilgrim registration payment and my hostel booking for the week of World Youth Day. I have yet to really plan my second week in Australia during which I am thinking of traveling up to the Great Barrier Reef and then back to Sydney for my flight home, obviously checking out as much as I can along the way. I really have to start preparing spiritually as well. This is a pilgrimage after all and I'm hoping that having this time and being "alone" on this trip will be a real opportunity for renewal.
